The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (APHP)

The APHP is an exclusive body, based in the UK but with world-wide membership, dedicated to maintaining a high standard of professionalism amongst its members, all of whom are fully covered by hypnotherapist's professional indemnity insurance and committed to ongoing training. It is only possible to join the Association and the hypnotherapists directories via invitation or training by an accredited hypnotherapy school. Any direct complaint against a member will be thoroughly investigated and any necessary action taken to ensure the continued integrity of the Association.

The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (APHP) is an official Verification Authority for the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council and as such is able to vouch for the 'fitness to practice' of its members so that they can register with that organisation.

National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH)

The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.

The NATIONAL COUNCIL for HYPNOTHERAPY, the largest Hypnotherapy register mentioned in the recent Exeter University report on Complementary Medicine (Second Edition) is striving to meet ALL the guidelines suggested by this report for the regulation of Complementary Medicine. Via the UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations, we are actively involved with the Foundation for Integrative Medicine and the future of the profession.

There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance.

National Register of Psychotherapists and Counsellors (UK) (NRPC)

The National Register of Psychotherapists and Counsellors is a companion organisation to the highly respected Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (APHP). All its members are required to show full details of their training and further education in the field of psychotherapy and counselling and must be able to show a high level of competence in their craft before they can be registered with the NRPC.
