Have you ever been so engrossed in a task or activity that you have totally lost track of time? Have you ever read a book and become so involved in the storyline you can actually see the characters and hear their voices as they speak? These are all everyday, natural examples of hypnosis. Hypnosis is simply an altered state of awareness.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the clinical application of hypnosis and is used to help people make deep and lasting changes. The term “hypnotherapy” means the use of hypnosis for the treatment and relief of psychological and physical symptoms and behaviours, and for self-improvement.
Contrary to what most people understand, hypnosis is not something you ‘believe in’ or ‘don’t believe in’. It is an effective therapeutic tool which comes with plenty of supportive scientific evidence as to its success rates.
Hypnotherapy can be a very powerful solution in helping people control weight, stop smoking, and improve self-esteem.
What are the benefits of hypnotherapy?

How many sessions will I need?
The number of hypnotherapy sessions a person requires depends on many factors including the person themselves, how deep-rooted their problems are, a person's motivation and commitment and change. For people wishing to stop smoking, often only a single 90-minutes session is necessary. Whereas someone wishing to overcome a lifelong issue, sometimes as many as 8-12 hypnotherapy sessions.
How long do sessions last?
Initial consultations last between 60-90 minutes. This gives me time to gather sufficient information from you to determine the most appropriate for you. It also gives you time to ask questions, and get to know me and how I work. Subsequent sessions last between 50-60 minutes.
